3 HAF - a record

The sun shone for both weekends! What a difference from previous years and what a difference it made. The Cockenzie Business Centre, having been built as a school in the 19th century remained cool which visitors found a boon on hot days - we on the other hand sat outside whenever possible to catch some warmth.

The exhibition was hung reasonably easily and we were pleased with the results. Folk did have to be directed up the stairs but I do not think we could have done anything more to make it clearer that the exhibition continued there. We were as pro-active as possible - attempted to engage with visitors whenever they were open to it. It did make a huge difference to our day, when folk were happy and indeed invited conversation about the artworks.

This year in particular, painting sales were down so we were extremely fortunate. Trisha sold five, I sold six - we really benefitted from having a venue of our own.

I did well on the sales - Rust 2 being bought by a friend for her husband's birthday. A couple who had two years ago bought my series of six - Old Town Series - came in and bought the five macro paintings as a set. I was really pleased not only with the fact that I sold, but that they saw the five as a collection which related to each other.
